Hi all,
I have for a very long time wanted to own a 101fc after living in the UK for ten years. Recently i can across what looked like 101fc specimen that is for sale but apart from the fact that the original engine has been replaced by a nissan engine, the body and some of the proportions just do not seem normal. I was wondering if anyone can shed some light as to whether there were some special bodies such as this one. The Chassis No. is 95601182A

Thanks for the photos.

With regards to your query about the bodywork of this vehicle, it isn't the original body that entered service with the British Army and is an extended replacement body probably built locally! The vehicle was originally built as a chassis cab vehicle by Land Rover under contract WV12074 and stored awaiting conversion as a FV19009 12V RHD 4 Stretcher Tropical Ambulance by Marshalls of Cambridge in 1983, entering service in July 1983 with the military registraion 73GJ43. It was issued to BATUK (British Army Training Unit Kenya) in August 1985, where it served until being Struck Off & sold in August 1992.

I hope this helps.
