My name is Allan Davies and I have owned a very special and unique 101 for many years. I have used it extensively in Britain and traveled as far afield as Norway and Germany. I was a 101 Forward Control Club and Register member for that time but sadly personal circumstances meant I had to curtail my use of the 101 and I also allowed my membership to lapse. The vehicle has now been in storage under cover for the last 10 years or so. I am now looking to move home and sadly the 101 and all the spares I have accumulated will have to go. Rather than just dispose of everything to a random dealer I would very much like them to go to a club member who would appreciate what they are and enjoy them as much as I have. I would be very grateful therefore if you were able to pass on my details to any club member who may be interested in purchasing my 101 and all the spares. As the vehicle has been in storage it obviously does not have an MOT so it would have to be transported away on a specialised low loader type lorry. However it does start on the button and runs perfectly. (The only thing needed to pass an MOT I believe would be a set of windscreen wiper blades). The following is a brief precee of the 101 and all the bits:
Declared first manufactured 1981 as LHD Ambulance body.
Release by MOD to a dealer in North Wales (long since gone ?) and purchased by myself and first registered in 1994.
Very basic conversion to a camper van - but all original ambulance bits have been retained.
Rover V8 engine replaced by a Perkins 6.247. (Original V8 engine and all parts retained).
New front suspension fitted to cope with extra engine weight )But original springs etc all retained).
A genuine Noken winch fitted !!!! which is fully operational.
Power steering fitted !!!! using all genuine Leyland parts.
A genuine Fairley overdrive !!!
Four Michelin XZL tyres - hardly worn - cost at the time over £1000 !!!
Galvanised front cross member and various other items like bumpers, wheel steps and various brackets.
New fuel tank.
New rear cross member (Body removed to weld across the top properly)
A depot storage unit and interstart cables and socket.
Everything works except the fuel tank sender unit. (And aforementioned perished wiper blades).
This is a list of all the major spares I have:
A complete front axle which was new when I bought it and is complete with drums, hubs, antiroll bar steering damper etc etc.
A spare front cab.
The original V8 engine, all ancillaries, and radiator and steering box.
A spare gearbox with an hydraulic power take off !!!!!!!!
A set of genuine LR special exhaust manifolds still in their original factory boxes.
A complete heater assembly.
Spare (new !!) transfer box and winch operating Bowden cables.
Loads of other miscellaneous bits and pieces, all genuine 101 stuff and probably unobtainable nowadays.
It would all have to go as one lot as I definitely don't want to break it all up
I am located just north of Southampton and my mobile telephone number is 07786861704 if you wish to ring and discuss anything.
Looking for £10,000
Best Regards
Allan Davies

I am interested in the LR Special Exhaust Manifolds and Heater Assembly if you want to sell those. I have an 81 Ambulance.
