Went to the first show of the season over the weekend, at Wrotham, Kent, just down the road a bit from Brands Hatch.
Arrived on Friday evening with the two 101's in convoy and was greeted by a small group of friends with their Reo and 101 ambi plus a series 109 recon vehicle and 110 hardtop. Next morning the guys left very early to pick up their other toys, and a couple of hours later with an Abbot and a 432. which sort of stole the show. We used the local Army Cadets as road marshals when moving the armour and vehicles to and from the show ring and were then treated to an after show ride in the 432, the Abbot was far too clean to allow grubby little monsters in. Sunday morning brought in another 101 this time the GS of my mate Alan, along with heavy clouds, rain and mist. Which sort of put the crowds off, but still bought out the true enthusiast. Met up with some old friends and made new ones, including new member Steve (Absurb), great to meet up and chat, plus put a face to a name. Was going to take more photos, but was a tad wet for most of the day. Thanks to all who we met over the weekend, had a great time, even though, despite constant pressure, could not get the Ambi to join my small collection. There is always next time, Sue.
