You're right Pete, does clash with Newbury Sort Out on Sunday 4th October 2015.

Would like to go to both, but can only go to one, but which one???

Need to sell off the overspill of parts and bits from 30years of Land Rovering, to make space for current models in fleet spares, and meet old and make new friends.

Or

Enjoy a couple of days in a park and by the seaside, and meet old and make new friends.

Steve, I will give you a call later, but a few bits of Lightweight, defo NOT any 101 parts, some defender (mainly service items) some series III or earlier. Compass for an American Tank, Windscreen for a Stuart Tank. Not sure if any of the de-ac's will go yet. Will be checking out the library to see if any Manuals or Publications can go as well. Still not sure if the Utilary Radio Kit is going in the Lightweight, if not, then this may go as well as the Clansman Radio kit.

I'd like a lightweight to do up for Jay to drive when he's old enough.

Looks like a popular event so has its own thread to discuss 2nd hand part sales. 8)

Newbury is now the two "must attend" shows for us - and it's near so no excuse!

The trick is not to spend more than you have taken on your stall, ....but I never do!

I already have tickets - managed to order the wrong set on the Fangled Interweb Site - ended up with Aprils and Octobers.

Brian,
What Clansman bits are you selling? - I might be interested? :D

All 101'ers,
Any 101 members are very welcome stop by and partake in a Cuppa & Bacon Butty as we will have the Sankey "Bacon Butty, Tea Making and Radio Relay Trailer" with us as normal. :D

I am hoping to have Flo on the road, but just saying that may have jinxed a September MoT! My "Small Patches" are little more involved

See You There!

I hope to make it, missed the spring one, first time in years I've missed it. Don't need anything, it's more of a social occasion and having a smile at the optimism of some people selling oily scrap!

I do actually need something this time Brian if you have a pair of lightweight drive flanges and cover plates?

Excellent day at Newbury..great weather, great vehicles , great mates....4 101's in attendance...Dave and meself in the naughty boys corner..Adrian in his white radio and Frank in his mint sand GS.
Bought some rare niggle bits like tailgate catch loops which I've been looking for fa ages..sundry items like wheel brace, correct shovel, cammo net supports,...I'm sure there were loads of other bits but it's so big you can't see all of it in one day...nice to see Les and Ray,Doddy,Frank etc.....I sold a lot of surplus items which I'm sure I'll buy back in the spring...met so many fellow owners from the UK and abroad and for once...I didn't buy anything from Doddy.....????!!??!!?? Looooking forward to Solent Overlord in the Spring.

It was Paul Clarke who sold you the tailgate latch plates off the tailgate he acquired for £30 while I took the mick about your lack of tools

Wondered if Les and Ray were there, missed them.

Between us we got some decent bargains anyway. Didn't seem to be so much there this time and no Graham Holding. Also a lot more tractor type scrap about.

Yes, Ray & I were there. We had a brilliant day and got a lot of bargains, the trouble was we didn't go in Ray's 109 station wagon. It was difficult driving home with all the gear that we obtained in a car, especially as Ray obtained some brand 101 new tilt frames and had to drive home with legs across his lap, as they were too big for the car. I was also after a mint 101 bronze green radiator grille that I had seen at the last Sortout, as it still had the I/D plates on it, which proved to have come from Mountbatten's funeral hearse but the guy didn't bring it with him. I knew the vehicle had been cannibalised after the funeral but it was confirmation that it had been broken, so could enter it as such in the vehicle register. However he will probably put the price up now he knows what it is; but I only want the plates for my rivet counter's collection and the radiator duct could go into our stock of spares, if I do manage to get it?
Was Paul there with you, I'm sorry we didn't see you if he was. Its been a really good year at both the Sortouts for meeting friends and those I haven't seen for many years, so if I haven't croaked, I'm looking forward to next year.

Les.

I went to Newbury last week & it was awesome :D Made many purchases at incredible prices  . If anyone has got a project on the go or just needs a few spare/replacement switches, make the effort next spring. I found what I was looking for and was surprised to see so many 101 spares dotted about.
P.s I'm not related to the organisers
