Team

Just to be helpful http://www.london2brighton.org.uk/slslrcl2bindividualentry.html

I do enjoy the trip down and the general chat and raffle but is it just me being mean
or has it increased in cost ?
It's £35 plus you need to get your entry in soon to get your t shirt.

Although it's (only) £35 ........ Plus the £80 in fuel it does seem to be getting to be an
expensive ice cream day. :D

You are correct Steven, but suspect increasing costs of putting the event on which does span 2 days as the build up is Saturday & the drive on Sunday would quite naturally have to be passed on.

Whether numbers are building or drop off will remain to be seem due to the expense of travelling long distances as we were doing over 400 miles from Exeter & now nearer 500 miles should we wish to go.

The event is what it is, possibly not the same since it moved, but none the less a couple of days of Landrover focussed enjoyment on offer.

Whether it is value for money can only be down to personal opinion & compared to other such activities on offer on the weekend as I think it clashes with newbury sortout?

There is a new thread to discuss 2nd hand parts at the Newbury sort out. 8)

Does anyone want the free tickets on offer?

I'm afraid it looks like you will be on your own this year. :(

There will be other 101's there, but not all will be under the 101FCC&R Banner. One of the SLSLRC organisers has a 101 and is used as an official vehicle. Other 101's will be there to support various off-road clubs and individuals. Have a fun day out.

I have entered (a couple of bits to sort out first on her) but our best intention
is to be there but not camping overnight at present.

I checked in tonight and so far have spotted four 101 by the main field.
Two big bonfires burning with the marshals to keep the fog away.
Departure at 08am but then staggered in various groups - all heading
for Pease Pottage patrol station about 0930am and then a trundle into
Brighton.

Some nice raffle prizes on offer - a few petrol driven garage items - worth a
ticket or two :D

A nice summer' day and a gentle burble down to the coast.
There seemed to be less LR this year although the camping was split into two groups this year so there could be a more staggered start and less of a LR bun fight to get out of Horton Park.

Last year I remember lots of people waiting on the bridges and waving but none this year but lots of friendly inter vehicle waving going on.

Although I did not win any raffle prizes - they worth trying to win - it looked like they had done a supermarket trolley dash in Machine Mart for all the big (heavy) items

Geoff' 101 was used for the 9th year as the LR tug of war comp to see which team pulled it across a set distance in the shortest time.

It was sunny all day and I think I counted eight 101' of various types in attendence, and I also spotted two of the Brighton petrol stations were closed....
I think the date for next year is the 2nd Oct.

first time going on the run and thought it was really good and other where friendly and was good atmosphere.

was surprised at managing the trip with no brake downs either as that's the longest distance driving the 101 since I got her and just cant get over the sound of the v8 is so addictive.

Glad to see it went well. It is a good friendly run, done it myself quite a few times but it is just too far & too expensive now doing it from west Devon over 2 days.
