Hi - hope this is ok to post here.

I am organising a small event in Devon called the Old Technology & Archaeology Festival. One of the vehicular exhibits is my own 101FC FFR Rapier Tractor - 16 SQD RAF.

Would anyone be interested in bringing a 101 or series Land Rover to exhibit?

Details of the show can be found here: http://www.old-tech-festival.co.uk - there is an on-line booking form for exhibitor registration. Exhibitors & family enter the show FREE.

Period battle re-encactments and involvement for children during show open hours - 11am to 5pm.

Diana Tigwell (of Billing Fame) runs our arena with BBC's Kirk England. Diana as you know is very passionate about Land Rovers and puts on an excellent display in the arena.

It would be great if any members of the club would like to attend.

There is a free camping site for Tents, Caravans, Camper-Vans, for exhibitors Fri & Sat night - or you can camp in your exhibit on the show field. The famous Duke of York Inn (Iddesleigh), voted in the top 10 country pubs for the 2014 good pub guide, provides our Real-Ale bar (chilled local Winkleigh Cider is also available from the bar). Food is available on-site from BJ Mobile Catering. Evening entertainment includes harp players, food & bar.

The show is a fun and relaxing weekend for anyone who does come along. There are lots of non-vehicular activities too - most things related to history & bygones.

Suitable for all the family.

All the best,
Giles.

Its the same weekend as war & peace, but its also only 5.5 miles away from my new location, so could well be a viable alternative without taking the kids out of school, & free up funds to have a week elsewhere. I will have to seek you out Giles as you are now on my doorstep 8)

It was a bit Landrover, & plenty of other things, which along with no rain, made it a great weekend. Definitely be going back next year! Be a Viking & you can get away with almost anything......

Model trains & old lawn mowers kept the kids busy all weekend, & Diana did what she does well!

They are usually free to attend & you get to meet all the local's so definitely worthwhile. The viking's outdid me as they had severed rabbit heads, & made lots of noise, but I found out later they had a tin opener! :-)
