David, providing you register and let the organisers know your ETA that'll be fine. The important point is that you register.

All the very best - Graham

Yes you can just turn up, but it will delay you at the booking in tent, that's all. Our insurers insist that everyone that attends as an exhibitor or entry must be registered before they enter the Showground (field)

You can register at any time up to next Friday Evening (Thursday if you want your entry included in the programme) at www.http://swk-area-mvt.org/show/show.htm

Hi Garry,

is it OK to turn up on Saturday evening? Some scheduling issues at home, even though I had dibs on this weekend apparently I did not "communicate" properly :)

I trust this did not give rise to a "full and frank exchange of views"?

Got back from teh show a little while back. Really friendly affair, laid back but also very entertaining...and the paying public were a nice bunch also!

Well done to the organisers, and also Graham for his most excellent Spag Bol and Olympian Breakfast....I owe you some beers for the food :)

From all accounts Graham is the man to park next to now! If you never want to go hungry! Glad it went well, although you have failed to mention the third 101 who was there?

Dear all, this was a cracking show and one that we'll be supporting next year as it directly supports the H4H charity. Great company and a chance to furthermy hone culinary skills - always a pleasure when the effort is appreciated. Steve (101 in a barn) joined us for the morning and we all enjoyed a great crack. Temptation got the better of me and I bought a new 2008 12'x12' tent complete with side vents for the silent generator to warm it up. (also comes complete with velcro attachable ground sheet and mosquito nets on the two doors and windows). On the Sunday Matt and his friend Rob (?) turned up with a very nice 101 which he has owned for 12 years!! Our silent generator supported the PA system for the entire event and was described as 'generator porn' by the sound engineer (sounds as though he needs therapy  ).

On day 1
One of the arena events was the crushing of a car by one of the T34 tanks. Once flattened William and I demonstrated the use of 101 winch by pulling the wreck out of the arena which went down well with the spectators. While I drove the 101 round the arena William drove the Ferret on his own with a very broad grin on his face. The arena had a deep pit through which the 101 pulled effortlessly.

Day 2
The demonstration of the 101 winch was performed by Matt with his 101 pulling our 101 across the arena, again going down very well with the spectators. William again joined another rather smart Ferret Mk2/3 in the arena and after several skillfully driven circuits the roving commentator was stopping vehicles to speak with the drivers on microphone to brief the crowd on the vehicles. William was wearing a 'bone dome' FV crew helmet. What follows is how the conversation went - Q "Hello, what's your name?" A "William"; slight pause - Q "and how old are you William?" A "14"; longer pause "ahem, well William can you tell us a little about the vehicle?" to which William provides the history of the vehicle much to the surprise of the commentator but much to the amusement of the crowd. Matt and I put our 101s through the pit and all was well until Mike joined me and convinced me to make a right-hand turn from the bottom of the pit. With 1st gear engaged in low ratio and diff lock on Harvey Boy just slowly but surely climbed out of the pit!!

Mike, Matt, Rob and mysef stayed behind after the event had closed to assist with the tearing down of the RAF Odiham provided tents. A thoroughly enjoyable week-end event.

All the very best to all

PS I have been sent a picture of Harvey Boy as it was about to descend into the deep pit in the arena - I'll upload it tomorrow.
