Dear all, I attended the meeting of the East Surrey & West Kent MVT last night and this year's Capel event is due to take place 5/6 July, 2014. Details of the event can be found at www.g-j-anstee.demon.co.uk. Last year there were four 101 Club members in attendance over the two days (Steve -Bedbug, Steve & Josh -101 in a Barn and Rob - Landymanrob). The general consensus on last year's event was that it was a small friendly and pleasant event. I for one will be attending this year with William. I am happy to coordinate a 101 Club presence as the 101's last year generated quite a bit of interest. Any members wishing to attend can you register your attendance via the link above.

On a related note come April the ES&WK MVT do a sensible road run from Capel down the A24 through Dorking and then back to Capel. They has members with a variety of tracked vehicles, jeeps, Ferrets and military Land Rovers. I will be attending the first of these runs and report back. If anyone is interested please let me know and I'l post dates.

All the very best - Graham

Hi Graham,

that link you posted does not seem to work for me. To enter do we just use the contact email address on the MVT site?
How many 101's do you think we will have?

Cheers

Mick

Hi folks. My name is Garry Anstee, and along with Phil Harris, we organise the entries to the Capel Military Vehicle Show each July.

Can I dispel some false information going the rounds, as there have been some attempts to spread fase or distorted rumours about the Show.

The Show will be held at Aldhurst Farm, Temple Lane, Capel, Surrey RH5 5HJ on the 5th and 6th of July 2014. Entrants may arrive any time from the morning of the 4th July and stay until the following Monday morning if they wish.

Entries should be directed to me at MVT Show, 25 Leith Road, Beare Green, Surrey RH6 4RG

There have been a number of claims that entries will be accepted at other addresses. This is not true.
If you have sent in an entry to any other address, then the entry has not arrived here.
If you have sent in an entry, and not had a reply, then the entry has not arrived here.
If you have sent in an entry that has not been acknowledged, then this does not mean you cannot come along. It just means a delay when you arrive. It also means that you may not be able to get in with the others of the 101 Club that have been booked in

Regardless of whether or not you have booked in, you would be made welcome.

The information about the meetings is correct, it is at the Plough Pub in Rusper and it is held every second Wednesday of the month. (With the exception of today 14 05 14 when there is a road run, starting from Aldhurst farm, address above, at 7PM)

Any enquiries ref Show, please EMail me at [email protected]

Thanks

Reading through the above postings, I notice that the web address given previously is somewhat out of date, hence not being able to find it.
The 'new' web address, as of last June, for the East Surrey & West Kent Arera MVT is
http://swk-area-mvt.org/

Sorry about the confusion but last year, the old address (and various other aspects of the event) had been under attack by person or persons unknown. Hijacking the web address and spreading false information was just a part of it. I was at one point called "a war mongering" person of doubtful parentage.

Last year's Show went well with no problems so we hope that the 'trouble' is behind us

What I can offer this year is that if enough of you 101 owners want to come, let me know and I will organise your own encampment for you
The offer still stands for the more adveturous of you - if you want to come Friday Night and stay 'till late Sunday, or even Monday morning, you can. Just send me an EMail at
[email protected] or go online at the above web address and complete the online booking form

Look forward to seeing you there,
--

It would be quite nice to get a large display of 101s all together. We did the same thing with a bevy of Bedfords recently.
If you had an area all to yourselves, what sort of size would you need, and could you devote said area to a specific theme?
Something like an ongoing restoration for example????

From the look of things its:

Steve
Dave
Graham
David
Me

does that sound right?
Not sure what theme we could have...any suggestions? I hear Graham does a good BBQ breakfast, but not sure that would pull in the punters :)

Just for re assurance - those of us that are local ish to you - we have never heard any
negative thoughts about your show nor seen any emails.
You were aware of the closeness of the river and you will have addressed any
possible flooding.
We enjoy the show and wish you and your super MVT team well.

Dear all, I have just returned from the last planning session prior to the event on 5th & 6th July. Garry (see previous posts) informed me that only three 101 owners have registered which sounds a little on the light side. Could I ask that if there any 101 owners who are intending to support this event but have yet to register that they do so soonest. William, Sue and I attended last year's event and it was the best event of the year. The car versus tank display is very entertaining. Those who register will receive a joining pack which includes a vehicle registration form, vehicle pass for the event and an owner's pass. Whilst all this docments are important perhaps the most important is the owners pass as, unlike last year, this will provide free entry to the evening entertainment. Last year the evening entertainment consisted of an excellent singer and music and they will be in attendance this year. One further attraction for this year is the planned two hour visit by a Chinnock.

In terms of my intentions I will be arriving on the Friday evening, setting up camp and getting a BBQ going for supper (with a beer or two). I will also be catering through out the week-end and happy to be joined by others.

All the very best to all

My plans are facing change - what is the latest time I can turn up and drive to the 101 camp?

David, providing you register and let the organisers know your ETA that'll be fine. The important point is that you register.

All the very best - Graham
