Just an idea... :?: I believe the V8 owners forum are thinking of having a get together at the County strip near Stratford on Avon, possibly 19th July.Would anyone be interested in some cross forum pollinization? I.e. hooking up with them, hanging out at the dragstrip, maybe even a 101 `race` .Its a `Run what ya brung` so subject to scrutineering, lid and licence we coud do timed runs! Any guesses as to what sort of 1\4 mile times a 101 would do    A big part of the pleasure for me is hearing that V8 noise-it makes me smile everytime! Doest that date clash with any of the shows?
Anyone interested :?:

Good idea - but 19th July looks like the Saturday of War & Peace. :(

This website has a calculator so you can work out your 1/4 mile time

http://www.torquecars.com/tools/quarter-mile-time.php

Not looking good if my ambulance was racing.

The best event would be a RWYB date as you just pay and go (but remember both parts of your
driving licence so paper and card or no run..)
http://www.shakespearecountyraceway.com/events.asp
First date seems to be about the 12 April - any earlier and the track remains damp and hard to launch off
(for non 4x4 that is) - and there is a bump at the end - I know as I hit it doing 135mph.

Stanta Pod off junc 14 also offer such days but a much posher location and track. :D

They start earlier in Jan as they have a track drying machine - see they are posh !! .

They have a Fast & Furious charity event in January 2014. :D

I have another type of V8 and will invite you down when I know we are running her - she is tagged to go
as quick as 7.5 seconds but my partner is braver than me...

I'm up for 19th July.

Probably going also to the opening and closing rounds of the European Championships as they are stop over events.

Also interested in supporting Steve and his team as I'm absolutely certain that being followed around by a bunch eccentrics in their leaking veteran Land rovers can only boost his credibility.

There are two main places to go for this - I
will be at both so Stanta Pod on the 9th March
2014.

and then the weekend so both days of
the 29/ 30th March.
http://www.shakespearecountyraceway.com/rwyb.asp

This could be a good "try" date/s as its the beginning
of the season.
So you should get to see all the new winter projects
being run for the first time plus it gets busier in the
early summer.

They do not "race" when it rains so you need to
check the weather.
