One day of the world being shut down and I get cabin fever.
Took the Rover for a short jaunt into the hills behind the house.

This is the trail to the top, I did not make it.
Note the dark tracks near the upper left, the dirt is softer than expected and the bar-grips spun.
So I carefully backed down to a wider and more level area.

Closer view of where I had to give up.
If I had remembered the diff-lock BEFORE I lost forward motion I should not have had any trouble.

At rest after turning around, which was more of an adventure than expected.
Seems the Rover has less articulation than expected so lofts a wheel easily.
I could not understand how the performance could be so poor, my 88" went into MUCH rougher terrain with ease.
I was cross-wise in the trail with one rear wheel slightly in the air and getting nowhere.
Then I finally remembered, DIFF LOCK!
Glad it works or I would have had to walk home!
With the diff-lock engaged movement was no longer an issue, both ends now doing a proper job of motivation.

This what I went to look at, free rock for the patio and hearth projects.

View looking west, Pine-Nut Range getting snow. Sierra Range beyond is visible on clear days. (Location of Lake Tahoe).

Next time out I will be properly prepared, and remember the diff-lock before engaging any slopes.

Looks good, you need to talk to GBR Bill about a rear diff locker, I do belive he has one left for private use but he will never use it.

GBR Bill?
Where, how, $ ?

Other thing to get are modern tyres.
Need a second set of rims so that I may keep bar-grips on one set for show.

Looks like I may be helping a neighbor with his Jeep so that I will have a trail buddy.
