Just to let those of you that are attending the Club AGM on Saturday 26th October know, I have arranged for for a visit to the REME Museum A site after the AGM to see the vehicles & equipment in storage, not displayed in the museum. From last year's experience, this should include the the 101 Challenger FRT & prototype No6,etc.

Many thanks for your input Les, went along with other members to see the reserve collection at REME Museum, quite an impressive array of vehicles.

For your information the 3 101's displayed are:-
73FL42 a REME FRT (Field Recovery Truck) fitted with a Tuckaway recovery crane in the rear load bed for vehicle recovery. Note the engineer's vice mounted on a plate fitted to the front bumper, in the radiatot grille.
01SP17 Prototype No 6 fitted with a rear Marshall hard top body. This was the sixth of the original 7, 6 cylinder, first prototype vehicles built in 1968.
69FL31 a REME Challenger FRT fitted with with a hydraulic load lifting arm in the rear load bed. Again
note the enginner's vice mounted on a plate fitted to the front bumper, in the radiator grille, also the trailer leg to support and stabilise the chassis when lowered, whilst lifting loads.

Really disappointed to have missed this, unfortunate clash of dates and time with RWC semi final England v New Zealand. Any chance a similar visit could be arranged next year if AGM is at REME museum?
