Whilst in Inverness recently, taking a Jaguar cylinder head for machining, we spotted a familiar shape driving through the Industrial Estate, so we followed it until it stopped. We asked him if we could have a look at his Radio Body 101. His name was Adrie and he had driven over from Holland and all around the north of Scotland but was in Inverness looking for the Land Rover dealership as he needed a part. His 101 has been converted from a V8 to an early 2.5L turbo diesel (pre-TDI) and the front damper had come loose and broken the woodruff key in the crankshaft and it couldn’t easily be removed. We told him about our 101 and took him to Jaguar Land Rover, though we had little hope that they would be able to help him. His plan over the following few days was to head back to Hull for the ferry and we thought it would be nice to both meet up with our 101s, so the following day we met at Glenfiddich Distillery at Dufftown. Whilst there, a 110 pulled in alongside and a Frenchman got out and asked us if they were Pinzgauers!! After picking ourselves up off the floor we gently explained that they were Land Rovers and we instantly became friends as so often happens in the Land Rover world! So here are some photos of our 101 and trailer, Adrie’s 101 and Francois’s 110 and us all enjoying a little parma ham and cheese together!
