It would be the old tax exempt because at one time I used to be a working ambulance scam!

That's ruined the look...
Funny how the seller says that only thing that's changed is the front seats...what about the scalping the roof over the cab has had.

Perhaps that is why it is so rare then only one ambulance has that body shape?

Shouldn't we be a bit more positive? So what - its a little modified?

We could do with new owner joining the club - maybe even feeling welcome?

Or we could be pointing out that whoever is thinking of buying it that it is "wrong" in that it is not tax exempt & that it is not £9500 worth of mint ambulance. I am sure that would be better telling someone that before rather than after they have bought it. 8)

Out of historical interest - When and where did that "Ambulance VED Exemption" come from and End? :?:

When I went through this, I re-registered mine as a Land Rover. If I wanted it to be an ambulance then that is what it had to be. Registered and fitted out to the service and only be used for ambulance duty only, this is a very watered down jist. No use to me.

So as a courtesy to any prospective buyer and hopefully a new member I would look at this comment very closely. But as someone has already stated the DVLA does not appear to agree and there is an annual tax quoted.

It couldbe that the owner declares it as an ambulance at, for instance, motor-cross meetings, steam fairs etc. and as long as it IS used for that and NOT as general transport it is (or was) allowed Ambulance VED duty, ie nil. That definatly WAS the case more than a few moons ago as our neighbour used a Bedford MK as one (it never initially was one). He tended to break the rules a bit because we all went surfing in it regularly 8), but it also allowed him/ us onto the beach- bonus.
Surely the modified front end could gain you more mph as it's STREAMLINED now
I think as a "fix" to circumstances OLPA refers to it's not a bad bodge, sunroof included look.
And although the new owner should be welcomed with open arms with positive attitude, Peter is right that if a prospective naive buyer checks in here first, they should be warned about the non-standard repair that should reflect the asking price.
I'd have it, but not at that figure.
Simon
