And as it is, it should fail its MOT on at least 2 counts.

Not sure how or why but it's certainly been through many MOTs in its current guise....

Which tells you something about some MOT stations, law enforcement and interpretation!

While I certainly would not dispute the fact that this vehicle has issues which could/should fail an MOT and I understand that some people disagree with heavily modified vehicles. And I know that this poster put his ad in the wrong section. I also know that no offence is meant but why do people frequently negatively criticise 'new' vehicles that appear on here or are offered on ebay?
The seller is not a club member but is he now likely to encourage the new buyer to join the club? I've heard frequent criticism in the past that the club is 'unfriendly' or 'cliquey' and threads like this only reinforce this view.
It appears that the club is having problems and that membership is falling - we should not be driving prospective members away by taking the mick out of their vehicles - even mildly or tongue in cheek.
Come on chaps lets fill the world with love and welcome new people!

Well said Graham,

we need more positive vibes and less negativity on here.

we also need to be more welcoming and more inclusive, any 101 owner should feel welcome regardless of how original their 101 is.

I have to declare an interest in this as mine was originally a GS and was converted to a radio body by one of the previous owners. I have further modified it to suit my purposes as a green laner/ overnight camper.

Les

AGREE!!!
Same sort of problems are growing in the Danish land Rover Club and I think it´s a big problem!! Also it´s very common to complain over commitee members and like, DESPITE they´r all on their own free time doing work for the rest of us!!! But when it´s time to elect new - silence is the word..!!! WE are all the club. Not only the commitee members... If we dont like them - elec new ones!
IF we want to keep the clubs, we have to appreciate the club and the ones doing the shitty work, keep up a proper tone amongst each other and be accommodating to new and potentially new members AND give a helping hand. A good advice to a novice, asking all the wrong questions, or doing club related work!
Personally I dont have the time to commitee work, but the Land Rover spirit is a very big part of my life and I enjoy helping where I can, sharing ideas to activities and not the least - sharing (or trying too) the Land Rover spirit on every platform available to me, in real life or on the internet.

I COULD NOT AGREE MORE,

Well said by both Graeme and Olpa.

If only people would come forward to volunteer or keep their negative comments to themselves. I try to welcome anybody whether they have a 101 or are thinking of buying one whatever modifications it has or they plan to do. There are only so many 101's left and the more that are being used the better for all of us....they are not going to make any more :( :( :( :(
