It's mine, as per the ad. I'm a bit of a dewy eyed plonker.

I took her for my first long drive last night and realised how dumb I've been.

Please feel free to mock.

Cheers,

Mike

Hi Mike,

I am not saying a word, I had the same problem, I removed the seat back squab, then packed the seat base up. I had some very uncomfortable trips to Holland and Belgium

Eventually I took the bulkhead out behind the seat and fitted an after market seat about 6" further back.

Now the only problem I have is finding a dignified method of entry and exit, this is aggravated by a lack of wheel steps because I fitted 10" Matt Lee 6 spokes. I look really cool when I rock up in Shrek and park amongst the defenders and discos and everyone comes to look BUT all that kudos is lost when I have to get out and in again

I was interested for a friend who was looking for a 101, but I think his better half has got wind of his plan and put her foot down with a firm hand

Les

How hard is that to do? That might be the answer to my problems!

I'm going to drive to work, it's only 7 miles, but that will decide it once and for all.

It's a shame Matt Lee isn't making those rims any more, I like the way they sit.

Cheers,

Mike

Hi Mike,

It needs careful consideration as you are taking out a piece of the structure, basically where the body capping turns at 90 degrees behind the drivers seat I have cut this piece off and removed the Aluminium back plate which I then used to fabricate an extension to cover the missing floor under the seat.

I am relying on the roll bar for structural integrity and some time in the future I will be fitting some sort of roll cage, probably external, which will incorporate cross bracing behind the seats.

It has made all the difference to the driving position and long drives no longer require an osteopath in attendance

Cheers Les, I'll have a look tomorrow, there is a little cubby box for some reason...

I'll take this off and have a good look.

Mike, my son William passed your 101 on his way home from school yesterday and from what he described and from your pictures I would stick with it and see whether the suggestion made can accommodate your frame. In thje Horsham area you have quite a few 101 ownders so don't be shy. Come to think of it are you coming to the 101 Club curry night this Saturday - there will be about 4 101s in the car park. Why don't you attend?

All the very best - Graham

I'm running out of Wifely support, which is a bit of a problem...

It didn't help that I realised I've only driven 101s in shorts and trainers... jumped in this morning wearing work boots and trousers then had to skulk back in, tail between my legs.

Doh. Still it's the weekend soon. I might be able to get the Missus out.

Cheers,

Mike

All I can say is that Steve is bloody persuasive. Molly is off eBay.

My darling wife has agreed to let me do the things I've said and then she'll tell me if she wants to keep Molly.

Well done Mike - 101 Club-therapy strikes again!
Seriously, modify it enough to be practical for you to use and enjoy - that's what it's all about.
