hello need some advice from people over here.

i have seen this adverted on here or on a websearch and is showing up frequently on ebay now with no sale.

this should be a GS based camper conversion i am interested in the GS looks. and for reasons of local vintage class registration it needs to be as original as possible (ie canvas etc)

how hard is it to source bits like doors of the tub?
hood sticks?
door frames for canvas? (or they are common bits from series land rovers?)
any other bits that might be missing or very hard to find ?
There is a fellow here who is very good at sheet metal work and has the adequate bending stuff etc.
in case tub doors are rare to find.

thanks for the help

joseph

I think if you blew hard enough, most of the wooden framed body would fall off!!! Jokes aside, returning it to a GS would be relatively simple. Your issues would be sourcing a tailgate, side boards 2 x left, and 2 x right.. You'd need a full set of hoops, a tilt, and the two Galv pieces that sit above the doors. It'd be more a matter of cost and availability than difficulty. I'm sure there's a few on here who would have most of the bits.. Ideally, you need to find someone who is building a hard top for their 101.... Good luck! :)

Because you have joined the forum but not the Club, there are sections of the forum you can't see. Some Club members prefer to sell to other Club members first. We have global maps in the forum of where every members is located. We move parts between us, even on plane journeys. If you are serious, joining us would make sense. Later this year I'll be selling a set of rear hood sticks and have an old canvas to give away too. Maybe catch up with you in the club lounge or workshop section, some time .Steve

Not difficult. It just needs patience.
I'm trying to restore two ex-ADF 101's back to GS from camper conversions. It's been a long process collecting bits but I've almost got everyting I need.

thank you guys.
it is starting low. i was going to cal him but told him i lost interest.. i think i shouldnt bite more than i can chew. owning a 101 has been my dream since i was in early 20s... but i better forget about it even if now it is relatively cheap to register one in malta as a new import. due to age. just asking do you happen to have a 101 owner from Malta listed in your club ? possibly yes i seen it once in maltese streets but that's just about it!

There are more complete GS available for the same money. Do you have access to the FOR SALE section of this forum?.
