There were around 8 whitbread ones, all were on a custom chassis and really were only a 101 in body.

This one is quite obviously the original chassis modified.

I think it depends who you ask then?

As far as I'm aware of the ones he built only the original was a V8, and it's been owned by a chap I know over near Newcastle for the past 8 years or so.

Clicky

It's also on Flickr, in bright yellow with 'big banana barney' on the front.

Knew the Banana well - here it is about 10 years ago. The previous owner said it only had one brother (maybe two but certainly not eight!).
Nice motor but is it a 101? Very little of it is original! Hope he doesn't have any steering problems as much of the steering gear is off a Llama!

I could be wrong on the total number, but I'm sure I've seen more than 3 different trucks built on the Whitbread chassis.
The banana was LHD, and at least 2 if not 3 RHD.

I could be wrongly attributing trucks to builders, but who knows? As an engineering exercise its pretty sweet though.
Wouldn't mind having one in my collection.
