Portal axles command a high price on their own.

Portals...volvo 303...cheap to buy, a lot more comfy than 101, less relability issues, pretty much unstopapble offroad..but i still choose 101

In what universe are portals cheap to buy?

Hmm..volvo 303 is quite cheap to buy, at least compared to some other vehicles in simmilar size / type range. You can get a decent example for same money as decent 101, which compared to lets say decent mog is cheap. Axles on their own seems to fetch a nice premium.
I was researching 303 subject quite a lot before getting 101 as my friend have one (gun platform version) and swears by it.
