Agreed are hand'd waiting for 101renovations to send it out to me he's been working away though so don't know when I will get it :( oh well will be nice to get the spare in properly :D

My, original looking, LHD spare mounting is similar, but the slot is the full width of the mounting plate . This allows the spare to be rolled almost out of the truck before the mouunting nut has to be removed.
Maybe an early version? (On Ebay, that is).

James, I suspect your vehicle was a test equipment truck. The spare wheel storage bracket was different on these trucks to the normal standard G/S. When you 1st obtained the vehicle the tilt frame and tilt was different to the standard type, another feature of test equipment trucks. Your military history card, if you have it, should confirm this.
