Odd, I think it must be quite an old one, as the newer ones, the 255/100R16's that are also marked as 900r16 have a double row of centre block on the tread.

900x16 only had the three blocks across the tread ... unless one has fallen off that's all mine have got!

They are different sizes but show the tread difference ... seems as if the 100 went for the pair of smaller centre blocks the 900 having a much wider single one.

I wonder if this could explain the apparent difference in wear performance of XZL that a couple of people have voiced opinions about ...

those links show all the sizes of XZL bigger than 750r16 as having 2 or more centre blocks. from the 235/85 upwards.
