The description isn't correct; the vehicle was manufactured in October 1977 as a chassis cab and was finished as an ambulance with a DIS of July 1981, so has a 1981 registration. Therefore it can't be tax free in the UK without an age related registration, which at best should be 1977 and not 1975. So very suspicious??

The vehicle will only get VED Exemption if its registered by the DVLA with a 1977 age related registration and the V5C is altered to manufactured in 1977, if not it have to wait a further 4 years to obtain it with a 1981 W registration

Hello,

I am with les on this one the reg is a W so i think that is a 1980? so it will have to wait for a few years to become tax free. However as the chassis was made when the 101s where made in the 1970's it could be possible to get it registered to the correct year of manufacture, therefore bringing the tax exempt status a few years early.

Of course it could be tax exempt already.. as it is a ambulance it could of been registered as such - however the pictures clearly show a camper.......

It's based on the year of manufacture. I got a heritage certificate and the year of manufacture entered on the V5. They wouldn't change the reg as its year of registration was fixed - according to the letter I received.
Seems they are happy to apply for the tax exempt status - in person first time - when it becomes eligible soon (It's a Nov 77 build date).
