Apparently thre is a version of one of the gears in the gearbox that carries a sprocket. There is some question as to whether that gear is icluded in the sale. generak view is that without that gear the PTO is useless, since the gear is nigh on impossible to source these days.

I presume the chain drive constantly and the selector for the oRO id in the lower part of the unit. It would appear the disengaded OTO still saps some power and adds wear and tear even when not being used?

Are these the bottom PTO type required for the Parentie third driven rear axle on their 6x6 vehicles, as I have never seen one in the flesh?

Me neither but the third axle was powered by a PTO on the transfer case. I have to assume it was this PTO.

Prior to seeing these PTO's I assumed the Parentie third driven axle was like the bottom PTO used to drive the Rubbery Owen power driven trailer, which used a gear to mesh with the axle final drive gear in the transfer box, to synchronise the vehicle and trailer speeds. However these could use the chain to do the same job? Surely some of our Aussie members could confirm if this is the case and is the Parentie third axle drive PTO?

Les.
