Checked my spare wheel it only shows rivets on the inside of the wheel, same as the first picture. Sorry.

Hello all,
I am still working away (slowly) on my prototype 101" and thought it would be a good idea as its nearing completion, to restart my appeal for a pre-production wheel rim. Since the "Wheel appeal" of 2014 I have managed to find one more rim. I now have four in total but I am pretty sure the fifth one is out there somewhere. All I ask is, if you could please have a look at your vehicles to see if you have an odd looking wheel in your set. A pre-production wheel rim has four groups of three rivets (12 rivets) on the rear of the rim. A production rim has a continuous ring of sixteen rivets, probably done for strength. If you do have one of these wheel rims and you are happy to sell / swap / do a deal for a production rim then please contact me. The pictures to help identify the rims will be further down this post but if in any doubt then contact me anyway.

Regards,

Ray Adams (the rivet counter)

Hello Farrier,
Thank you for checking your wheels today. Its a real shame that you have also have lost the original wheels on your vehicle. I think this would have happened while the trucks were doing their army service. Even the pre-production trucks were used just like the production trucks in the services with no special treatment. So when it came to tyre changes / heavy maintenance etc, the wheels all got mixed up. In reality the pre- production wheel rims of which I roughly estimate to be around two hundred could literally be anywhere in the world by now!!!!
My vehicle by the way is a prototype built in 1968 and when first built had five stud rims !!!

Regards,
Ray
