I bought this about 18 months ago I think and had great plans for it, however time marches on and it's been used once. I think I put some photos on here of it a while ago, when I bought it the hitch was damaged. The correct hitch seems to be made of unobtanium so I got our mechanics at work to replace it with a brand new Bradley ex-military hitch I sourced. This works as it should however the hydraulics I've not touched so it has no working brakes. Not that it affects how it tows mind, but I've only had light stuff in the back when were were moving depots at work.

The MOD conveniently cut off the plug on the light wiring, I just taped over the lights as the towing vehicle has a high up set in the lightbar. Also a couple of the hinges need re-welding, you can just see in the photo of the number plate to the top left where a weld has let go. All of this is how it came, I've never dropped the tailgate.

As things stand it owes me around the £600 mark, I'd take £500 from someone on here. The photos below I took when I bought it, the one with the R&S wagon was taken in March 2012. I'll try and post a photo of the new hitch as well. I'll leave it a week before listing it on eBay as I'd rather it went to a home behind a 101 where it belongs. I'm not far from Woking in Surrey.

I would love it to put behind Shrek but just a bit too dear for me unless you want a nice wide track sankey,

Les

That's part of the problem Les - I've got a wide track Sankey already and a car transporter trailer arriving imminently. If it's only a bit too dear perhaps you could make a close offer...

British military 101 Forward Control G/S and Signals body vehicles normally towed wide track trailers when in service. The Rapier reload trailers were normally towed by 109 or 110 Land rove rs, backing up the Rapier 101 FUT & TRT vehicles with extra missiles in the trailer and the crew's kit in the rear of the vehicle.

The Australian Rapier system only used 24V 101 forward controls in the FUT, TRT and reload roles, but these were supplied as a complete system by British Aerospace, Stevenage.

I have been toying with the idea of swapping my widetrack for a rapier trailer and wouldn't mind having a look at this one, I am over in Fleet and so not a million miles away - maybe you could phone me to arrange a viewing (07880-611133) :D

Les, if you too many many vehicles to cope with on the premises it seems obvious that the Ben Hur should be cast, as it doesn't fit in with the rest of the collection? I would also question the Quad and obtain a reload for the Land Rovers; if you have a 109 or 110?

Les.

Sorry, I haven't signed on for a few days.

You're more than welcome to come round and have a look. I think I'm around every evening this week except tomorrow (CEO's visit at work, no idea when that will end). I'll get the trailer somewhere you can see it properly and get under with a lead light, it's not in a good place at the moment for that.

I've taken a few more pics this afternoon of the new hitch, the underside and the two hinge mountings that need re-welding. The hitch is a new Bradley MH35, ex-military surplus. I'm not sure exactly what its from but it fits nicely with a minor amount of modification.
