What a lovely truck.
If I had that, I wouldn't sell it.
What is it like mechanically? How does it drive? What sort of trips have you done in it? Do tell more please.

Well, as Im Ex R.E.M.E Myself. It would be rude not to, wouldnt it!

I have only been to beltring once in it & a couple of local shows near to me (Ashford, Kent) also fundraising static display in Folkstone for The Royal British Legion a couple of years ago.

Low mileage too. It is still petrol & a REAL pleasure to drive. Amazingly quiet for a Lorry, just what you want Taticaly in Military Service!
The cross country performance of these truck is legendary! The chasiss is designed to twist to unbeliveable limits, & in low 4 Wheel drive. They WILL go ANYWHERE!
Mechanically, it is perfect, Gear changes are smooth & the steering is as tight as a new vehicle. NO wandering on the road!
Having had a LOT of expirence in Service with these trucks. I can state with some Authority, that you can rely on them 100%. I have only ever changed plugs, points & filters In Service use. They are a real joy to work on. You can take the gearbox out for a clutch change in 20 minutes! Apart from a VW Beetle, what other vehicle will let you do that?.....

This truck is an absolute BARGIN for the next potential owner. It is unadultorated luxury in the rear! All you do is turn up at a show, drop the tailgate, clip on the Metal steps & connect the gas bottle! & then, Put the Kettle on!
The internal photos shown do NOT show all the MANY extras I have added inside.

I REALLY want a 101 to keep, so a straight swap for a TIDY 1 Tonne is also on the cards for some lucky lad. Or a CASH sale so I can buy a 101. Either way, I REALLY do want the Landy!

There are very few restored RL GS Trucks left in Private hands. Most RLs seem to be either Green goddess fire tenders. Recovery Variants. Or the Civvy AFS Pipe carriers with WOODEN Sides! :? Many more 101s survive than these Classic Legends!

Yes, Original engine. VERY Quiet & smooth to drive. Once it gets up to speed, you can sit at 55 on the Motorway all day long! :)

like a big car really, I drove it all the way down to Kent from Licestershire. With absolutely NO problem whatsoever. She never missed a beat!

I have done Beltring & back one time. Appox 60 miles there & back. Been to a couple of shows at Cantabury & Folkstone. & that's about it really. I am only selling it as I REALLY want a 101 & this would fund it or get me a swap.
Road Tax & M.O.T Exempt save you a few Bob each year as well. A big consideration these days! VERY Low insurance, cost me £95 per Annum!

Go On Mick, Give me Your 101. & this can be YOURS!

Yes, it has been downrated (Paperwork Exercise) so you can drive on a car Licence.

MPG is roughly 10-12 MPG. You can also get LPG conversions for these trucks I believe.

Done! Just bring it on over and we'll swap them over.
It's only a few days to drive. Oh you'll need a rather large snorkel.

Or float it over on Balloon tyres!

I would have thought a few of these have survied in Austrailia, from former military Service? Or is that not the case?
I have seen quite few WWII Monkey faced Blitz's over there. If THEY survived, SURELY these much better made & later manufactured vehicles would have been snapped up?....No?

I've not seen any around. I didn't think the ADF had any. They had Inters.

The Danish RL's had different cabs i think. I was watching one of the old Bovington AWDC trials on video the other day and they were beating the old Scammells on some of the sections. Great little truck.
