For sale; my 1975 101 GS 12V RHD. Purchased from a dealer in 1998 and gradually restored and improved over the years. Since the main restoration has been carried out it has only had dry use, has been kept indoors when not in use and has been to various shows and runs and was used as my son’s wedding vehicle. Sadly, though it’s not had very much use over the last three years so time for a new custodian.
Over the period of my ownership the following work has been carried out:

Bare metal respray of all the cab external areas, full strip and respray of doors, covers, side panels and tailboard. Removal of rear body and replacement of rear crossmember. Strip of all rear chassis underseal and repaint in chassis black. New stainless steel fuel tank fitted but carefully primed and painted to match the chassis.
Strip down and rebuild of the battery box and air cleaner space.
Strip down and rebuild of the carburettors with a Burlen kit so they can cope with ethanol-laden petrol – it’s a sweet runner.
Replacement of various brake and clutch cylinders, pipes and hoses, also new fluid reservoirs fitted.
Tilt renewed.

When first purchased the engine had a rattle under load and, early in my ownership, I was offered a good out-take V8 from a 1987 130 and this I fitted. So, although a 3.5l its not currently got a 101 engine. The engine that was removed will be included in the sale but requires a strip-down and investigation.

A lever and control cable to operate an overdrive has been installed but the overdrive has yet to be fitted but is included in the sale.

The Land Rover is stored in a dry shed not far from where I live near Tenby in Pembrokeshire and I’m looking for £20,000

A folder with plenty of photographs is available on either of these links:

I have a selection of spares available by separate negotiation that includes a S/H front axle assembly with excellent chrome.
