Things have changed

The Club will be allocated an area to display their vehicles and I have managed to get permission to camp in them overnight.

However if you wish to be part of the Club line up, you will have to apply for the tickets individually. In other words yourself.

This works out at £40. Friday night to Sunday pm PER PERSON £15 per day and £5 per night for cost of facilities.

Tickets are available here http://www.dunsfoldcollection.co.uk/lan ... ow-tickets.

If you could let me know if you are attending and wish to be part of the Club line up using the “Post Reply” menu so as I am able to request a suitable size area.

1. Dirtyrover
2. Ray Adams
3. Pete Steer
4. Brian
5. 101inabarn - sunday only

V8 tiger tokens.

I am trying to be enthusiastic !. - so it's £15 each on the day either with or
without a vehicle.
As I like company then that is £30 if booked in advance.

Or I can save some petrol and not add to the display - you would have
assumed with the fuel costs of getting there - especially say for Peter,
you would expect a £5 off for adding to the LR display ?

I am very disappointed that the show has gone this way, but then as it appears it is being run by outsiders then it is all about "the profit" They will of course learn that owners do not like paying out to display their vehicles & numbers will drop off. n

A great responce from a question why the entry fee was the same with a display vehicle as a normal
civvi entry in a normal car and with no effort.

Thank you for your email to which the Dunsfold Collection trustees have asked me to reply.
It is good to hear that you wish to come and see our Collection and it will be a pleasure to see you in June.
Here is some background on our collection. Like the MVT, of which I am President, we are a charity
but by no means in the same league financially.
In order that Friends of the Collection, collectors and Land Rover lovers can see all our 130 pre-production and one off Land Rovers on display in one location, we rent a site, take on a professional operator to run the show and spend two weeks getting out the cars and preparing them for display.
This is a very costly operation and seems to be appreciated by all who support our passion but sadly
it does mean that we have to charge visitors for entry to cover the costs.
I am unsure whether you are a 'Friend of the Collection' but if this is the case, it may have escaped your notice that you do not pay to come in. In addition to this, all Friends have access to
our 'Friends tent' where they receive free drinks and cakes and can have somewhere to sit and chat
and meet other collectors and even some of the engineers who built the prototypes.
If you are not a Friend, please see this link: http://www.dunsfoldcollection.co.uk/get-involved.

I appreciate that you will have a long journey from Dorset and although we love seeing all the
Land Rovers which visitors bring from around Europe and for which special Land Rover parking is reserved, we do fully understand why some visitors prefer to come in a civilian car in order to
save costs.
I do hope that the content of this email explains a little of the background and why we have to
charge an entry fee and we hope to see you on June 10th or 11th.
Yours sincerely,
Trustee
The Dunsfold Collection

I have finally received a reply to some of the questions. Please follow the links in the email.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Your club members will need to purchase their tickets via the Dunsfold Collection’s website. On the following page there is a link to click on which will take them to the purchasing page for entrance tickets which will show all of the options and prices and if they were camping in the camp site to also book that. http://www.dunsfoldcollection.co.uk/land-rover-show

For club members who wish to sleep in their vehicles on the club stand or camp in club appropriate period tents on the club stand there is a £5 per person per night ticket to cover the cost of utilities on site. They may purchase their tickets via the following link https://shop.ticketscript.com/channel/w ... anguage/en

I hope this is of help and apologies for the delay in providing this information. I hope you and your club members have a great weekend but if you do have any further questions please contact me.

Best wishes

Elaine

Team

I have bite the price bullet and signed up for the sunday only.

I have never seen the collection and our plans for this weekend have changed
so I fancied going this once.
Not sure what time we are expected to arrive - subject to cattle prodding a
teenager !
Do save us a spot if possible.

I am planning on being there all weekend so will try & save you a space on the stand. You will probably need to get there first thing before they restrict movements but try & blag it :-) would be great to have you as well.

To Inabarn

I have been in contact with the organisers and the latest you must be on the stand is 1000hrs. After this time there are no vehicle movements allowed within the showground.

The showground vehicle passes are in the post. Remember you still need to pay the admission fee for each day and a fiver for a tom each day.

You must be on the stand by 1000hrs as there are no vehicle movements after this time.

For those who are not sure or forgotten (we're all 2 years older!). The site address is:-

The Springbok Estate
Alford
Cranleigh

It looks as if I have blown a piston on the way back from Malvern so highly unlikely that we will be at Dunsfold now. Managed to get home slowly but there is a definite miss fire & chuffing from the oil filler cap. The knocking seems to have lessened though but it was pretty bad to begin with 80 miles away from home :-(

Good to know you got home safe Pete.

I guess it's time for some investigation works.

What a great weekend, there was a good selection of 101's around the show ground and even one in the car park.
We had three vehicles for both days on the club's small plot, Two Radio Bodies (Dale & Mine) and a GS (Ray) on Saturday and Two GS (Ray & Steven) and a Radio Body (mine) for Sunday.
Ray was there with his lovely GS on the club stand, but so was Paul Clark with his newly restored (first proper outing) GS Mortar Truck. This is a truly awesome restoration and won a well deserved Best Leaf Spring Vehicle in Show prize.
A few club members turned up as visitors and had a good chat, plus lots of inquiries and chats with visitors.
Will be writing up a show report and photos later.

Only problem all weekend was the traffic hold up on M23, due to some person (female) taking their dog for a walk along the hard shoulder.

It was well worth attending, I was with Paul with my Lightweight and his prize was well deserved.

Great weekend and good to chat with a lot of different enthusiasts.
