How different is this to the original report that's or was available from the club shop?

Les.

It may be the same, or contain less information than the copy you have Les, so we will have to wait until someone actually reads it to know. Maybe I should flick through & count the pages. Then look to see if the maps are there, to get the answer.

It is a very shortened version of the report, at a fraction of the page length. I would say it was the original article published in the magazine in 1976. Still a good read for free if you have 1/2 hour to spare, & are interested in learning something about it. The full report is obviously a lot more detailed at 170 page.

Is the 170 page report out there somewhere to read/purchase?

Yes we do have it on both DVD or email version which I could try to send to you in 3 parts due to its size Not sure if my current internet speed is up to it mind as it is a lot lower than it used to be.

The two pics in this article come from the draft of a book that Tom wanted to write but it was never finished.
Plenty of photos but just partial hand typed script with some hand written corrections.
Lots of desert scenery, even paraglide observation pics, maintenance and of course, loads of pics of the trucks and the guys.

To date - the club does not have this book draft, nor has there ever been permission to publish the photos. Sorry.

Howard
