I think one size fits all..... not model or year dependant..

My ambulance is different to my gs. Gs has a horrible plastic locking thing and my ambulance is different to my mates gs. Different buttons in the middle.

NATO parts list (second edition) covers both GS and Ambulance (stretcher) models . Publication 22726 and it lists same steering wheel for both models.

Rover part Number 595224 or NSN 5530-99-524-6172.

Two other parts lists I have show only one steering wheel and give same Rover number 595224. (As does the Provisional parts catalogue)

I can only find one part number (or its NSN direct equivilent) in any publication I search.

Do you have a part number for the wheel you seek?

Are you sure your Ambulance has the correct steering wheel fitted?

Was there a reason for this mod? Was it just unavailability of the original wheel in later life?

Have you a link to that EMER or a downloadable copy?

The original steering wheels became unobtainable some years ago and was the reason for the EMER. The Club did get a batch of new steering wheels, manufactured in China, for the club shop a few years ago. Its best to repair the original wheel if you don't wish to fit a Series 3 version as per EMER.

The One Tonne never used a series 2 steering wheel. The original steering wheel was a new item, not used on any preceding model of Land-Rover.

The 101 original steering wheel was reputed to be from a fork lift, dumper or tractor, but as far as I know we never found the correct one? I thought the EMER is in the club member's download section on the club website home page, if it isn't, I have all the 101 EMERS, but have only managed to get these downloaded, as the IT officers have always been too busy to get it all downloaded. In fact I have given up trying to get the REME "Ease of Mainenance Assessment report", dated 1973 & 1975, having tried all the officers from Tom onwards.

Wasn't it a Benford dumper?
