Can I ask what's the deal with the export marker ? it shows as been exported ? Does that mean exported to Ireland or somewhere else and never left ? To bring it back to the UK would you have to import it and sort all of that side out and I assume pay some tax ?

This one is a 961 chassis prefix which means its a 24 volt rhd. Military reg was 74FL82 and it was designated as a Rapier FUT (firing unit tractor) and was most likely fitted with the nokken winch from new. Its a 1975 and is only 4 vehicles before mine. Of the 170 961s built only 39 were FUTs so i guess that makes it pretty rare and well worth preserving :D :D .

I do hope someone takes to this one and enjoys it for what it is 8) 8)

Cheers Adam...............intrepid restorer of the shed

the reference is to its status on the DVLA records, therefore yes, export marker means it has been exported from the "UK".

I agree that "for sale in Ireland" is ambiguous, particularly as the seller's email is for a company that is based in Northern Ireland ( http://www.industrialplantlubrication.com ), however, as NI has its own vehicle licensing body it is probable that the DVLA regard it as having been "exported" to N Ireland as it is no longer recorded on the DVLA system since it is registered on the NI system instead.

Were it in Eire then yes, you would have to formally import it back into Great Britain & Northern Ireland, potentially facing an import duty of 10% and VAT of 20% for a "second hand car" value. But, as it is probably in NI, then you won't have to pay duty to "export" it from NI and "import" it to Great Britain

The details are very vague unfortunately, including its exact location, so you will need to email the seller (if you are interested) for more details, which can then be entered into the thread as an update.
