Hi all. Around 4 years ago i obtained a land rover 101fc ambulance (xux 254y). My intention was to do it up myself as a working vehicle, however 4 years down the line i have still little opportunity to do the work. It is in too good condition to be split for parts, being in original spec as a NBC variant ambulance, has stretchers, lifters, gas masks, filter system, lights, siren, erbspacker heater etc. The truck has 2 cylinders dead in the engine and the tyres are rotten, however the rest is good. rear crossmember a bit rusty, but rest of chassis good. has gas kit, stainless exhaust, new front springs, new fuel tank a while ago, ball joints look ok on axles, electrics all work (though i have removed the batteries for safety), brakes worked last time i rolled it, steering ok, passenger door top replaced, the wheels and steps are original and not too rusty. i cleaned every part of the underside when i got it and coated it heavily with waxoil, so is currently quite greasy black happy state. However it has not moved now in 2 years so condition may have deteriorated.

I am still interested in having it as my own work van, however i am aware that my time and funds are limited.
I would be interested in offers to do paid repair work on it.
I would be interested in swopping for a working gs.
And i would be interested in selling it whole.

Please get in touch with your comments and or offers.
The 101 is near winchester, i live in sheffield.
I will try to get some photos up, but may take a while...
Yours, Mike Andrews.

Email your photo's to Pete and he can post them up for you.

Also a rough price you have in mind would get you more interest.

Hi all, i find the 101 forum extremely hard to use, please feel free to phone me on 07969859863. I have been offered £1.5k by someone on the yard where it is kept. i suspect that one of you would want it more than this as it really is complete and not in bad condition...

Looks a bit more than £1500 to me.

Nice original vehicle you have there...worth much more than £1500. I'd say that is more a £4000 vehicle in todays market.
If you price it so low...it will just get bought by a trader and either stripped for spares, or sold on to someone at a profit, to become a camper. It's worth more in original condition as there are fewer and fewer unmolested ambulances around.

Just don't get ripped off.
I'd be more likely to keep it and get it sorted so you can enjoy it and take it to shows in original condition. You may get more money selling it to an American...and sorry to say...they will take it overseas...but will have more respect for its rarity.
